buh-bye

Okay so if you hadn't quite noticed yet: I quit. I simply can't handle a blog along with school, tumblr, a diary, the band me and friends started, going out with friends, and.. well pretty much a social life makes it impossible for me to continue posting frequently.
You know, maybe in half a year or so I'll reconsider it and start over again, maybe under a new name or maybe with this one still. But right now I just don't feel like it anymore. And once a hobby starts feeling like an obligation, I say quit it. It's not right.
Pity though because in my opinion my outfits started getting better.. But you know, I would have posted them if I simply wanted to put the effort in it. Don't feel insulted because I didn't: 'it's not you, it's me.' And I mean it too.
Other bloggers should just keep up their discipline, will power and amazing posts because I'll still visit their blogs!

Whoo, it feels better once you've officially announced it :') Until whenever!

have a smoke, have a pocket tee

I dreamt this look, but with a vintage worn-out shirt and espadrilles in stead of boat shoes and a pocket tee. After editing the look a bit when awake, I felt the immense urge of buying these jeans.. Damn my decision of saving up for sales, school trips and holidays!
(I don't smoke. Spare me the lung cancer please. But I think on some people it just looks so good..)

Oh yeah, my blog is one year and four days old today ;) I forgot to 'celebrate' the anniversary on the actual day, but it would only have been a lot of blah-blahs. So. Here's a shorter blah-blah with a polyvore to cover it :)

In my Breton pull from France. This thing cost me 25 euros but I LURVE it. My adoration you can conclude from the fact that i hate when people say 'lurve'. (Sorry for the bad quality, it was dark.)

I SUCK. But i swear that the only reason i'm not posting is because my own computer's internet isn't working, and my dad's computer is gone to his new 'own office' and my sister is occupying the laptop 24/7. But now that she's back to school and i still have about 10 days left of vacation, i can post again :) I do love you for the fact that you're not (yet) abandoning me :D

PS. It's my mom's birthday ;) for she's a jolly good fellaa...

EDIT: On September 9 there's this 'Beatles Breakfast' in music store FAME, and I'm going there!! It's because they've remastered their albums digitally or something and when you buy the box sets (I will, so help me GOD I will) you get a free shirt and poster and what not.. Everyone (remaining) in the Netherlands who is a fan of the Beatles, I'm telling you to sign up soon! Send an email to beatles@fame.nl with your name, adress and p.o.r. and with how many you're going to be. If you're lucky, it isn't full yet!

new discoveries

i must apologize for my delay being longer than expected: as soon as we got back from texel, our wireless acted out. (texel was okay, by the way: we had fun but we were with five and i seemed to be the 'outsider'.) i do really appreciate all of your comments! could they be any sweeter..?

i've once again taken a dive into our dress up box and it's amazing how bottomless it seems..

we've revoluted so fast

I know the word above isn't actually a word.. it should be, though.

This is my last post before I leave for France! We're leaving as soon as possible tomorrow and now I'm waiting for the laundry to dry, and for the rest I'm pretty much ready to go :) I thought I'd show you the things I bought yesterday:


Sandals. I needed summer shoes and first wanted to buy them in the H&M, but couldn't find any. Then my mom said: 'Let's check at the HEMA,' and that's this not really fashion-y warehouse kind of shop so I wasn't too impressed.. until I found these almost immediately. 15 euros. They're not heaven when it comes to the comfort, but none like these will ever be. They'll last a summer though :)


The most simple skirt ever, H&M, 5 euros. I was over-dressed yesterday so this was just a solution-buy ;) Could always come in handy..


A linen top from the.. Zara? Honestly, that store is to me the crowdiest, most illogical store there is. But it was sale and I found this and loved it. 15 euros.


2 euros. Need I say any more? :p



A playsuit for 9 euros. Again, no more words necessary..


I bought this beach dress a while ago (9,90) and haven't worn it yet.. But it's really cute :p

the biggest change you've ever seen

Tuesday. Cardigan, H&M Young. Playsuit & leggings, H&M.

I'm not the biggest fan of leggings (though I own a lot of pairs, I make them look like tights with the help of socks or a little stretching) and so I came up with a way to make them more.. different. Or something. I rolled them up. I thought it might have the same effect like it does on tees when you roll the sleeves, that they just look better. I'm not sure if it does though, what do you think?


Thursday: all H&M! I just noticed really.. also, I didn't know what to wear and these things were all still on the pile of clothes in my room (of stuff I've worn already but aren't dirty yet) and I thought the vest and playsuit was a good combination.


Friday. Shirt, Abercrombie & Fitch. Top under, mom's old. Skirt, vintage by Zipper.
I own exactly three pieces from A&F, all shirts: This one, a green one which is cute but in-versatile, and one with a logo which I don't wear except for under shirts and stuff.. Kind of an impulse in the label-phase of my life.



Today. Shirt, dad's old :) Stone wash jeans, C&A. (Headband came with a shirt I bought yesterday)

The C&A is a department store where I never buy anything. A few days ago however, when we came back from the library and we had to seek shelter for the rain, we went there. I bought these jeans because they were close enough to acid wash ones and I can't DIY because my mom doesn't want our washing machine to explode from the bleach or something. I also bought a tee with shoes on them (shoes are NEVER wrong) and an amazing green tie-dye top. You'll see, sometime soon.
This shirt is really comfy and since I haven't left the house today (woops) there's nothing bad about casual.

Also.. my holidays have begun! I'm officialy done with school and have no work left, all is finished. I have to do some baby-sitting the next couple of days, though, and we have a school dance and a class barbecue in the park, and me and my friends are having a sleep-over and I have to return my books. Then, less than two weeks from now, we're going to France! This means being lazy, making friends you'd usually never hang out with and.. no blogging. For three weeks :( you might not believe it since I blog so unfrequently but I'll miss it. And you. And I'm really not looking forward to having 400+ posts on Bloglovin' but I'll patiently read them all. For all of you already on vacation: enjoy! I can't get the idea of summer thoroughly in my head yet, but it's true: it's here.

PPS. RIP Michael Jackson. It's kind of unbelievable to me, even though I wasn't his biggest fan. I never thought of him as a wrong person or anything, and he was an amazing artist and now he's just.. gone. It's weird.

relax, soon it'll be worse

'So tomorrow OK?' Yuck. I disgust my own words. But it so came to be I wasn't wearing my yellow dress anytime this week, because I gave it to my friend Salome 'for all your hemmings and adjustments'. It needed shortening. Any other outfits worn were simply not intriguing or plain good enough to photograph. Above the fact that I simply didn't feel like it.

So what else is new? I bought a playsuit! My friend (same one) told me H&M sold playsuits, and so we went there. I thought 'when it's more expensive than 20 euros I won't buy it.' What do you know: it was ten! That's fairly cheap, even for H&M, for such a handy outfit for perhaps the beach, shopping, school.. let's just say whenever you feel lazy :) I'll post pictures soon enough, because the weather is so nice I could actually wear it (without tights)!

Sorry for this once again boring post. I will not make it a habit to just blab, without anything to look at but words. Darn words.

because one could not live without

Short post in between, containing this: I've been dancing all weekend. This explains my absence. For these two beautiful sunny days, I've been sitting inside, bored, overly pancaked (do the English call the gross orange make-up that, too?) and waiting for the breaking of sweat for the performance of three minutes.

Four times.

Still follow? Basically it's this: I had to perform a dance in a show my dancing school organized and all. And it was over 68 degrees outside! I was tightless and it had no use because I did not meet the sun! That sentence was way too poetic!

But tomorrow, it's gonna be hot too, so now I'm finishing up this explanation of mine and I'm going to find a pair of shoes fitting with my yellow dress, darn it. (Which I bought on Queen's Day and you haven't seen yet, so tomorrow OK?)

i'm being naive and i know it

If there'd be like a Razzie award with the topic of blogs/bloggers, I'd win it all. Seriously.. BUT this time there's somewhat a reason for my absence: my computer has been freaking out, probably with some idiotic virus, and now every time I turn it on it turns itself off every two minutes, then goes back on again and so on. There are at least two or three outfits 'on hold', but first, some better news: tomorrow is Queen's Day!! Me and my friend are going to sell some stuff, containing old hardly-worn clothes and other crappy things.. then, we're going to have money and be able to shop-till-we'll-drop-or-be-knocked-over-by-the-millions-of-Dutchmen-out-there-on-the-street. Still following me? ;) afterwards, when pretty much all the 'stands' (meaning the pieces of fabric loaded with crap and surrounded by pushy people) are gone, there are boxes and garbage bags and racks and racks of STUFF left and it will be FREE.

The day after QD, I'm going on vacation for an entire week (Friday till Friday), so any pictures and left outfits will be posted after that. I hope Texel (this island where we're going) has any cute little shops or anything, but we'll see. We'll all just see. As of my computer: I'm going to ask my dad asap if he can try and help me with it, and otherwise use this laptop (which is a Mac and therefor way better) to upload photos.

faceless, fearless

So my mom and dad found out about my blog, and because they thought it was 'a good idea' I get to keep it. BUT (there's always a but with parents..): I have to make my face 'invisible' or something like it, because they're creeps out there of size I can't realize. Well, trust me guys, I do: I'm just not entirely stupid enough to make appointments for people wanting a photoshoot with me, which was miraculously just what I'd wished for.. (not) So I'm blurring my visage on all my pics, until I maybe come with a better solution.
I already knew that they would say stuff like this. When they read that, they're either gonna kill me, say 'told you so' of laugh me in my face. Because that's the way my parents are. And happily I can't do anything about it.

Today:

Shirt, H&M. Cardigan, H&M. Shorts, Mervyn's. Tights, H&M Young. Shoes, market (€5! I wear them so un-often because they're already broken up and stuff).

Yesterday:

Shirt/skirt/tights, H&M. Socks, secondhand (my mom's - they have raspberries!). Shoes, Converse (not quite visible).

spring is here

Springtime, spring weather, spring fever, hay fever.. It's all arrived in Holland too, finally. And because I most likely am not infected with pertussis, I can go to school tomorrow again! Yay! (Which sounds a little weird, but I don't like having to catch up on either friends or school work..) So I'll be dressing better, dressing period, again.

the questions never asked there's no answer to

Please forgive me. I've abandoned this world of blogging in every single way. So to speak I don't eat, sleep, produce. Meaning I don't feed myself off of you, I don't properly take a rest, and I certainly am not letting you guys know I'm still out here. The problem is, I haven't felt like blogging in all this time. I haven't even been on the web much lately, only to learn for school, or check my email. This sounds less serious than it actually is: it is, was, one of my addictions to spend hours behind this very screen.
Also, now I'm infected with this very bad cough, accompanied by a painful throat ache, and it could be pertussis. We're not sure, but I don't feel too well. Another thing: I'm having a social life! The sun's back out and that means hanging around with friends and family rather than spending free time inside. In this time, I've painted bikes with friends, performed for my singing classes, shopped a hell lot, been to the beach, I've even had a few ice creams!

Please forgive me. I'm now, sleeping for real. Taking an, with this one, announced break from blogging. All I can do now is hope you'll miss me.

Just to let you know I'm still breathing. A few excuses of not posting:

- I've been having a social life lately. This is totally out of my league and I don't know how to handle it well.. ;)
- The sun has been shining. I mean, crazy right? I had to celebrate the nice weather with.. painting bikes with friends, shopping, shopping some more and eating ice cream.
- I've just been lazy and not up to posting, I haven't photographed my outfits and I'm just.. dunno. Weird phase.

BUT I'll make sure to take pictures of my buys and stuff and post them when I feel like it as soon as possible.. Now, it's time for catching up with you guys 'cause I believe bloglovin' has over 300 new posts for me awaiting.. woops.

true hurt

So ski vacation was a blast.. ahum. Yes, I've figured it's just not for me. It's cold, you have to get up early and then listen to some irritating French guy not able of speaking propre d'anglais, you have to wear the same clothes every day and coming home you pull your slouchy (though vintage) sweater over your head, and worst of all you have to MOVE. I could have come up with the idea of exercise and stuff, after all it's skiing and that's not just the fun of going downhill.. but I'm not the most sporty girl out there and so next time my dad and sister will go, my mom and I will be found in Paris.
Shopping.
Mostly.
No, pretty much just shopping.

Anywho, I'm sad to say I've followed the Fashion Weeks only passively: through you! Yes, that's right, most collections I've watched through all of your blogs and I don't think there's any need of posting more pics of them.. The only collection I've truly seen every look of is the Marc Jacobs one. Holy moly I love that guy so much. And if you'd want to see my favorite looks, ask for 'em, because I'm not gonna post them just for me. I'm too lazy.

PS. Also, Moschino Cheap & Chic's Fall RTW let me down, but I do really love this (the headpiece! the skirt!):

Everything (skirt, shirt and hat) used to be my mom's but she gave it to me.. because it wasn't her size anymore. That's considered secondhand, right? ;)


Edit: IMPORTANT NOTE! I'm going to be gone for a week, will leave tomorrow for Chamrousse France (skiing for the first time!), and will return either Saturday or Sunday.. just so you know I won't be posting for a reason :p

I'm sorry I've been absent.. I was planning on posting my Christmas outfit, the gifts I got, maybe the Christmas tree in our house and all, I just haven't had the time or the feeling for it. Anyhow, I'll be going to the Noordermarkt tomorrow and I hope I'll find something! (Wish me luck.. ha ha)

You've just entered my very new blog. Let me tell you first, it could come over to you as a bit selfish because I will post my personal outfits the most. This is not because I'm not interested in anything else, because I will also post street style inspirations and collections at times. I just also have another daily-life blog and it's very hard to have two blogs! But I'll try =)

About me:
I'm a teenage girl in the pretty city Amsterdam, Netherlands. I'm in high school now and when I graduate, I probably want to do something with either fashion or languages.
I haven't had my personal style for very long, so if it seems a little immature or anything, just say so. Tips are always welcome and so is inspiration!
My all-time favorite brands are Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Moschino. My current fashion obsessions are high-waisted skirts and jeans and oxfords and my favorite kind of look is the chic nerd..
