theloveinaheart

Shirt, gift from my dad (Zara). Striped dress, H&M. Tights, Hema. Plimsoles, H&M.

I looooove this shirt that my dad bought me at his three-day trip to Milan.

Milano Milano Milano.

And these plimsoles/lace-ups/flats/whatever you like calling 'em (I say plimplimplim.) are very comfy :) And were only 10 euros at the airport! Hehe.

And purple tights.. ah well a 'small hint' of color, and I love colored tights :D You should see my tights-drawer. Yes I have one. And it's treasured deeply.

PS. I put all my stuff on lookbook first so I might sometimes forget to post outfits..

sample sale

Today I spent at the barber first. After that, we went to my dad's office. You see: he was working on this campaign and the company it was for, sent hundreds of shirts/sweaters/hoodies/polos. There were a lot left after the campaign, so we were 'invited' to come see and grab what we wanted. The rest'd go to the Salvation Army. I do feel very sorry for the less unfortunate but I came home with:

6 basic shirts: cobalt blue, bright blue, light pink, grey, lime green and black.
4 polos: white, yellow, dark grey and black.
3 sweaters: grey, black and dark blue (the last one is XXL mens so HUGE.)
1 hoodie: light blue.

So I've got my share of free clothing for this.. week? Month? Year? Well you could never have enough =# And if I end up not wearing it I'll personally send it to the SA :)

Remember these? I did the counting backwards now, like for on the piano ;)

I decided to do a 'what's in my bag'-photo. It's nothing exiting or anything.
- A little bag for my phone (and my phone, used for pictures)
- A black pen (I took my notebook out last-minute so kind of useless)
- To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Inspired by my dad the Noisettes I started reading this for school. It's really good!
- Tissues
- Bike lights
- Keys
- Liquorice drops

Upstairs and outside. Boy it was cold today!

Hey we got hungry. And thirsty. And greedy at last. Sinful us.

So how was your Saturday? :)

Ps. I wasn't supposed to prove global warming wrong in the last post, I'm sorry. I do believe in it, that's not it, but I'm actually wondering if it won't do the Dutch winters a pleasure.. if it wouldn't kill all the Dutchmen first :D

going cheap

Vogue UK November 09 'Greatest Hits' I was flicking through this in the store (no chance of buying it for near 10 euros, sorry) and loved this look. It was easy and sailor and stripy and you must know I'm a sucker for stripes. Then I looked at the shoes. I felt I needed a pair of those. Then I looked at the price, and discovered that the world of fashion and magazines is going the right way. Because among all those other pieces in it that were all 'just above' 100 pounds, these shoes are 2. 2! At Primark! Even I could afford that.
(trendhunter)

Speaking of bargains (which is a loose term), we went shopping today.. or actually we were there for groceries but had to stop at this cheap-o store 'Bristol' for just a quick peak. We found out you could stuff the entire collection in bags and get 20% off. So we did that. And actually this feels way better than H&M because you're pretty sure no one else has got it ;)

A spencer: this is something I've been looking for for a while now and I found one in the boy's section :D boys rock. (14,40)

A Jimi Hendrix shirt! It isn't all too clear in this picture but it's really an amazing thing :) (12,00)

A basic red/grey striped shirt and I'm going to ask my friend to put the Beatles logo on it! (8,00)

Also I bought a really cool dres but the picture and the no-body in it really don't do it justice so you'll see it in an outfit sometime soon :) And now.. I am out of money.

May I also please tell you to answer these questions here :)

we celebrate

100th post! And.. I have absolutely nothing to say! I'm just glad I made it so far already, you know, that I.. kept going on ;) most of the time I promise myself to keep a blog/website and I just quit because I get bored. I think this is different, because it's a passion of mine and I'm just too glad with the amount of visitors I get to stop. It might not be as much as all these great bloggers get, but it takes time and I'm willing to give that.

Well I guess this 'something' :)

A treat to you, though: my buys from today ;)

Longsleeve shirt, €3, vintage (Laura Dols).
Tie-dye dress, €5, vintage (Zipper).

Talk about bargains ;)

new discoveries

i must apologize for my delay being longer than expected: as soon as we got back from texel, our wireless acted out. (texel was okay, by the way: we had fun but we were with five and i seemed to be the 'outsider'.) i do really appreciate all of your comments! could they be any sweeter..?

i've once again taken a dive into our dress up box and it's amazing how bottomless it seems..

probably more pictures coming which i still have to take. also my buys from france! i'm just too horrible..

EDIT: new layout.. i was getting kind of annoyed with the over-done thing.. it was just.. too much :p

5 jul 2009

we've revoluted so fast

I know the word above isn't actually a word.. it should be, though.

This is my last post before I leave for France! We're leaving as soon as possible tomorrow and now I'm waiting for the laundry to dry, and for the rest I'm pretty much ready to go :) I thought I'd show you the things I bought yesterday:

Sandals. I needed summer shoes and first wanted to buy them in the H&M, but couldn't find any. Then my mom said: 'Let's check at the HEMA,' and that's this not really fashion-y warehouse kind of shop so I wasn't too impressed.. until I found these almost immediately. 15 euros. They're not heaven when it comes to the comfort, but none like these will ever be. They'll last a summer though :)

The most simple skirt ever, H&M, 5 euros. I was over-dressed yesterday so this was just a solution-buy ;) Could always come in handy..

A linen top from the.. Zara? Honestly, that store is to me the crowdiest, most illogical store there is. But it was sale and I found this and loved it. 15 euros.

2 euros. Need I say any more? :p

A playsuit for 9 euros. Again, no more words necessary..

I bought this beach dress a while ago (9,90) and haven't worn it yet.. But it's really cute :p

These are my goodbye words. GOODBYE. I'll seriously miss you guys, and I hope that you believe it :) Have a great great greatest summer vacation and I'll see you in three weeks! :D

30 mei 2009

as easy as it gets

So this is the playsuit. €9,90 at H&M. 60% Cotton, 40% polyester. A knot in the back of your neck. A knot at your waist. So darn comfy. You haven't seen the last of it.

and the angels with the demons sing

This is a men's sweater. Hello men's sweater. It's pink and I bought it at the Zipper. (At which me and my friend finally found out, they have a separated men's and women's side and we always used to just wonder around everywhere but that's how you get these kinda buys right?) Anyway, I wanted to wear it as a dress and so I did, but the problem with me and (semi or totall-i) short skirts and dresses is that I keep tugging it even if my buttocks are not showing. So I wore it like down here afterwards, because it gives me a secure feeling.

And just at the moment that I can't show my face anymore, I found these. Well, bought. On Queen's Day. For 50 euro cents. Isn't that amazing?! Well, they aren't real Ray-Ban's or anything, but still. They were sunnies but the 'glasses' in them were all damaged so I simply popped them out. And the effect? My family members laughed me in the face HARD when I 'suddenly went half blind' whilst wearing them on the couch. My friends find me a fool, but so they did already and geeky glasses you can poke your fingers through to prove they're of no use make no difference to their opinion. And me? I likie likie a lott-ie.

And these, you met, so to save you a long unnecessary story about 'em I'm leaving this blank after THIS.

PLUS: I have a BURRRNING question, namely: who of you dear ones is 'invited' to read The Wandering Alchemist and could get me 'in'? I read ALL of Sam's archives when her blog wasn't yet closed for some/most people, and I just adore her style so much.. Don't believe me? In one of her first posts she talked about Lego accesoires. Well, if you could get me to read her blog again and stuff, I'd love you for it.. thanks in advance!

what culture does to you

My latest purchases and finds..

Striped & bright blue top, H&M and €6,90 a piece.

Plaid blouse, Mexx @ V&D, €15,- (minor detail: it's menswear.. XXL. But it fits like a glove. NOT.)

White and black leather belt, found at the trash across the street.. possibly previously owned by a now gone man.. spooky but kind of cool :p

I also bought a €9,90 Benetton woolen cardigan, though the picture of it was horrid so you might as well see it in the next outfit post ;)

29 jan 2009

way cool, way fair.

So by the not-too-subtle post title, you could with probably the least of sense figure out THAT I AM THE PROUD OWNER OF WAYFARERS. Well, no real ones, obviously, I bought them in a vintage shop (Zipper, Nine Streets, Amsterdam) along with the best purple leggings yet -also included in this post-. They were 10 euros (both purchases for that matter) and my mom would freak if I told her that.. but she'll just have to find that out someday ;) I chose for blue because everyone says the color compliments my eyes so well... uhm... duh... (don't laugh btw but I forgot to get the sticker off..)

2 jan 2009

desperate woman.

Well, I went shopping, finally! I'm not even going to tell you guys where I went because you'll probably know. I went with my mom: I find it best shopping with her, rather than alone or with friends.. she has good taste ;) anyhow, we went to (..) and (..) only, so everything down here is bought at (..). Fill in the dots. Tip: I had a free €80,- to spend there on gift coupons! But I spent a little bit more..

Left to right, from above:
- a gray sweater long enough for a dress(!), €9,- only! (was on my wish list!)
- a blue sweater dress in need of a shirt under it, €19,90
- a pinstriped blouse, waisted and worn as a dress, €24,90 (kind of on my list but I LOVE it)
- fuchsia long leggings, €9,90
- a fuchsia 3/4 sleeve shirt (with trees on it!), €5,-
- a gray sweater, €5,-
- a high-waisted skirt which I fitted some time ago when out of money, loved, and now bought! €19,90
- another high-waisted skirt, totally cotton which looks like lace though, €14,90

S0 all that together would be.. €108,50!! And I also spent €10,- on underwear and 2 on headbands, will make it €120,50 at the (..). That's a HELL lot, but I owe my mom only €10,- so that's doable.

21 dec 2008

Christmas is giving..

..and so we went shopping, for gifts. Well let me tell you this, once my mom and I went in the H&M 'for a quick look', we weren't able to get out. So that's why I'll have to go gift-shopping today.. because anymore possible Christmas outfits aren't necessary.

Red shirt, H&M (€9,90) - Black shirt, H&M Young (€9,90) - Blazer, H&M (€39,90 to €19,-) - Velvet shorts, H&M (€19,90 to €9,-) - 2 pair: red and light pink tights , H&M Young (€4,90 to €2,-)

Is that considered sale or what?!

And if I promised my mom I'd wear my oxfords, I could wear these with them: knee high socks with lace on the top!

munsterous. #2

Well, I went to this little German town Münster yesterday, with two classes. (Mine and another, doh.) It was so much fun! There were like 5 or 6 Christmas markets that sold stuff for in your Christmas tree of course, but also typical German food, stuff like baking forms and hats, scarves etc. It sucked though, that we had to look for certain churches and stuff to answer questions about it, we didn't find about half of them so we traded the answers with some other group.. =# we also had to interview people in German which was actually very fun! There was this man that could really say something in Dutch! 'Heeft het eten goed gesmaakt?' he said, with a terrible accent, but still funny. (It means 'Did the food taste good?' =p)
Of course, because we were there all day, we shopped too. Or at least we tried to. We were with the seven of us: five of which my friends, me, and one girl that is kind of the loner in our class (because she's so annoying! don't get me wrong though..) and had to come with us. On our way to the market, where we had to answer questions,
we ran into this vintage shop in a little alley! One friend of mine, and myself of course, really wanted to go there. The others actually just wanted to go to H&M -.-' so first we finished what we had to do and the seven of us went there anyways =)
It was so cool! They had a real lot, and it was all so pretty... and cheap too! There were racks and racks of dresses, shirts and stuff.. It was vintage heaven =p the only thing was there were almost no shoes or bags, expect for these like 20 inch-heels with the largest plateau soles ever.. but anyway, the ones that didn't want to go there liked it a lot too. The one friend that did want to go bought a really cute hat and a sweater which I fitted first but was a little small.. =( but I did buy two things that I wanted to buy for some time: a big knitted sweater (you could almost smell the old lady, haha) for only 25 euros and a plaid shirt for just 10. (By the way, we never again went to the H&M: we did eat in the most delicious and cheap pizzeria ever)

(Sorry for the weird rotation)
